Job Description:
We are currently recruiting for a Admissions Administrator to work within the School of Geography on a temporary basis, starting ASAP.
 
Job Purpose:
 

To provide high-level administrative support to undergraduate admission activities within the School

To work as part of the School’s administrative team, being mutually supportive and covering duties as necessary during colleagues’ absences and at times of additional pressure
 
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
 

Admissions

To manage the admissions databases and ensure the smooth transition of appropriate student records to the student database

To monitor any withdrawals and identify the reasons and liaise with students to establish if the programme is to their expectations, then follow it up with recommendations to the Teaching and Learning Committee for the further improvements

To communicate with the Admissions Tutor and TPRAC about admissions strategy and implementation

To coordinate the Clearing process, ensuring that all enquiries are dealt with quickly, appropriate academic staff are briefed; assisting with making decisions with the Admissions Tutor about applications and close monitoring of application numbers to ensure a clear record of Unconditional, Conditional, Firm and Insurance data is available; liaising with the central Admissions office throughout the process

To collate and organise first year student intake lists and communicate via email/newsletters with incoming students prior to the start of the academic year

UG administration

To oversee student records on SITS and inform the College of any inaccuracies and to follow through to ensure that changes are made

Other

To work as part of the School’s administrative team, being mutually supportive and covering duties as necessary during colleagues’ absences and at times of additional pressure

To carry out responsibilities with due regard to the university’s Equal Opportunities and Health and Safety procedures
