This particular internship will be based within the Commercial Excellence and Business Intelligence team.

The Role

Within our UK & Ireland BioPharma organisation, the successful optimisation of Multi-Channel Marketing and Digital, is critical in supporting our ambition to be a leader in Customer Engagement & Customer Experience

Positioned within the Commercial Excellence department, you will support marketing and sales teams in the creation and execution of customer engagement plans.  Acting as a “Channel Orchestrator”, you will operate marketing IT platforms, modify & re-purpose campaign content, and deliver analytics to provide campaign and customer insights.

You blend sharp business acumen with creativity using digital marketing and content editing tools / software, to provide practical marketing campaign materials.  Naturally customer and service focused you are in your element working within cross-functional teams or as a resourceful independent contributor.

In this role you will be a key member of the UK and Ireland Multi-Channel and Digital Team, operating within a high profile area of the business where your contributions will be highly visible.  Our Graduate and Intern assignments offer excellent opportunities to develop new skills and experiences, empowering you to grow and accelerate your career.  Recent successful graduates within these roles, have found permanent career opportunities at Merck within our Marketing, Corporate Affairs, Medical and Commercial Excellence functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive engaging, and innovative ideas tailored to our target HCPs.
  • Produce & edit videos suitable for a variety of platforms including MI, Web and RTE.
    • Source additional footage, music and voice overs to create interesting videos
    • Helping to plan, shoot and edit (larger) original video projects for events and congresses
  • Use graphic design tools to create engaging presentations and infographics 
  • Work with internal marketing teams to exploit opportunities for content creation
  • Place content into zinc
  • Create new company level social media channels
  • Co-create customer engagement plans with marketing teams

Desirable experience

  • Digital marketing (e.g. Online and email campaigns, Marketing IT platforms, online advertising, Google Ads, Key Words, Search, SEO, Social Media advertising)
  • Advanced Graphic Design & content creation and design using UX design (HTML or other code) 
  • Data and reporting Analysis (Google Analytics, Web Analytics)
  • Advanced MS (Excel & Access Databases, Sharepoint)
