University of London are working with Merck to provide Internship opportunities for graduates looking to start a career in finance.

Your role:

Merck are offering a Commercial Finance internship for 12 months in its pharmaceutical division. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience working in a global organization interacting across various franchises. The essential responsibilities are as follows:

  • Involved in finance activities enabling you to get strong understanding of different areas within Commercial Finance
  • Own assigned processes within financial planning
  • Support finance partners to prepare business updates
  • Support month end closing activities, working within deadlines
  • Performance analysis compared to targets, prior year/quarter
  • Base cost analysis including understanding of the drivers
  • Participate in certain projects (e.g. margin analysis) and other ad-hoc activities as required within Finance functions

The Finance Intern reports to the Head of Commercial Finance. The position is located in our UK office at Feltham.

Who you are:

  • You have a 2.1 university degree in finance or a related discipline
  • Excellent financial and analytical skills
  • Willingness to improve things and strong motivation, Hands-on mentality
  • Effective communication skills, Self–starter and ability to multi task
  • Fluency in English is a must (both spoken and written)
  • Highly proficient in MS office, especially Excel, PowerPoint.
