The successful candidate will be working within the University of London Internships and Recruitment Services team as a Recruitment Resourcer for 8 weeks, with the prospect of being a permanent employee at the end of the internship (depending on performance).

The aim of the internship is to provide training and development in order to become a Recruitment Consultant, with the opportunity to get involved in business development activities, such as attending meetings with new clients and networking events.

The Role

One of the main focuses for the team is the recruitment services that we offer. This includes recruitment for internships and permanent hire placements. The successful candidates will work on the recruitment for our Graduate Gateway and London councils internship programme to advertise, sift and recruit applicants for specific internships. Additionally, the job will involve interaction over the phone and face to face with clients, candidates, students and graduates so previous customer service and client relation experience is vital.

The tasks will include but will not be limited to:

  • Write and advertise job specifications for various positions using our recruitment management system
  • Headhunt and shortlist applications for live vacancies on various job boards and our customer database system
  • Construct telephone interviews with applicants
  • Professionally and assertively respond to candidate and client queries via phone and email relating to live vacancies, contracts, pay, and notice periods etc.
  • Reject and feedback to candidates during recruitment stages
  • Host graduate job fairs with the team in various locations across the UK.
  • Formulate intern contracts for new starters
  • Conduct registration meetings with new starters
  • Liaise and assist Senior Recruiters and hiring managers with Graduate Internship Programmes

Please note that appropriate training will be given.

Person Specification

  • A 2:1 and above degree in any subject
  • A driven and motivated individual with an interest in HR, recruitment or Business development
  • EXCELLENT attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Proven experience providing customer service
  • Previous experience demonstrating a personable attitude over the phone and face to face
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work under pressure and use your initiative
  • Competent user in Microsoft office (including Outlook, Word and Excel)
  • The ability to work in a team and individually
  • Must be a self-starter
